ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi has urged the international community to extend political and economic support to Pakistan in fight against terrorism.

He stated this during his meeting with Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong in Istana, Singapore. The meeting was held in a cordial and frank environment.

The Foreign Minister apprised the Prime Minister about the efforts made by Pakistan to fight against terrorism.

Qureshi said Pakistan had cleared Swat, Malakand and South Waziristan of extremists and terrorists. Pakistan could not fight against these terrorists alone.

The Foreign Minister reiterated Pakistan’s desire for peaceful relations with India.

The two nuclear powers in South Asia had no other option but to hold meaningful and constructive dialogue to resolve all outstanding issues including Jammu & Kashmir, he added.
