ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf while staging a walkout in the National Assembly on Friday demanded suspension of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz lawmaker Javed Latif for his alleged use of foul words for PTI leader Murad Saeed’s family a day ago.
On Thursday, Murad Saeed and Javed Latif scuffled outside the National Assembly hall, an act which was caught on camera and remained in headlines throughout the day.
Later, a video circulating on social media showed the PML-N leader allegedly slandering PTI leader Murad Saeed’s female family members.
The scuffle continued to echo on Friday and the inappropriate remarks by the PML-N lawmaker as well.
PML-N's Javed Latif once again appeared before media regretting his yesterday's remarks and confessing that in a fit of rage he had uttered some inappropriate words.
State Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb also condemned Latif's statement. "All what Javed Latif said was inappropriate. He apologised for his remarks and he was supposed to do so," she said.
But, the PTI lawmakers appeared not to be pacified, as they protested over PML-N lawmaker's statement in the National Assembly.
Staging a walkout from the house along with members of some other opposition parties, PTI legislators demanded the NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq to suspend membership of Javed Latif and take action against him.
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement and Jamaat-e-Islami, however, did not participate in the walkout.
Earlier in the day, PTI chairman Imran Khan barred all party representatives from sharing a public forum with PML-N MNA Javed Latif.
