Pakistan wins one more medal in Islamic Solidarity Games

19-year old Nadeem was 27.12 meters short of the eventual Gold medalist of the event

KARACHI: Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem has won the Bronze medal in 4th Islamic Solidarity Games, in the Javelin throw, with a throw of 76.33 meters, taking Pakistan’s total medal tally to 6 in the event.

19-year old Nadeem was 27.12 meters short of the eventual Gold medalist of the event, Ahmed Bader Magour of Qatar. Ivan Zaytsev of Uzbekistan god the silver medal with a throw of 78.66 meter.

Arshad Nadeem’s medal was 6th medal in the event for Pakistan. The tally includes two bronze and four silver medals. Pakistani athletes have yet to win a gold medal.

In another event, Pakistan defeated Turkmenistan by 3-1 in Volleyball group match.

In basketball competition, Pakistan men’s team lost to Turkey and Saudi Arab while women’s team lost to Indonesia and Palestine.
