In March 2015, model Ayyan Ali — reportedly linked with former president Asif Ali Zardari — was arrested at the Islamabad airport by the Airport Security Force for allegedly attempting to smuggle over $500,000 to the United Arab Emirates. She has since been released on bail while a case is under way.
