Six suspects arrested, nine detained in Karachi operations

KARACHI: Six suspects were arrested and nine detained during Rangers and police operations in the city early Wednesday morning.

A search operation was also held in Scout Colony in which more than 50 Rangers personnel participated. Two suspected criminals were arrested during the operation.

According to Rangers, the suspects belonged to a banned militant outfit. The suspects have been taken to an undisclosed location for further questioning, said an official.

During an operation in Shah Faisal Colony No 3, 4 and 5, nine suspects were detained. Weapons and stolen motorcycles were seized from their possession, police said.

Police arrested an alleged street criminal, identified as Muhammad Hussain, during a raid in Karachi’s industrial area. Weapons were seized from him.

Suspect Saeed was arrested from Jackson Keamari. An unlicenced pistol was also recovered from him. Police registered a case against the suspect.

Gulbahar police arrested two suspected drug peddlers from Haji Mureed Goth and Firdous Colony. Weapons and contraband were seized.
