KARACHI:Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is ready to help the stranded passengers in Doha but as yet no decision to operate special flights has been taken.
Speaking to Geo.tv, PIA spokesman Mashood Tajwar said, "PIA is ready to help stranded Pakistanis in Doha, PIA's country manager is in touch with officials on the ground."
He added, "passengers stranded in Doha are Qatar Airways passengers. PIA will provide them support as and when needed."
"Decision to operate special flights can only be taken once a final count of stranded passengers is known and is subject to instructions from the Government of Pakistan," Tajwar told Geo.tv
The spokesman added that airline's chairman and CEO were both monitoring the situation.
Passengers travelling on Qatar Airways to multiple destinations were stranded in Doha after Saudi Arabia, UAE, Yemen, Libya and Egypt cut diplomatic ties and closed off their airspace virtually grounding Qatar Airways.
