AVCC nabs four suspected muggers in Karachi

The law enforcers also seize weapons and snatched goods from arrested suspects

KARACHI: Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC), in its bid to contain growing street crimes during Ramazan, has nabbed four suspected street criminals, officials said Friday, who have confessed to their involvement in over 35 muggings.

AVCC, acting on the directives of IG Sindh AD Khawaja, launched a crackdown on street criminals in the megapolis, said SSP AVCC Tariq Razzak Dharejo.

The law enforcers also seized weapons and snatched goods from arrested suspects.

The suspects have been identified as Abdullah, Zulfikar, Muhammad Shakil and Tanvir, the official said. Officials seized four handguns and a snatched motorbike from the suspects, Dharejo said.

The motorbike, snatched from Paposh Nagar area of the city, carries registration number KEC-3210.

Police have lodged a case against arrested suspects and are further interrogating them.
