Mangi was informed of the notice via telephone and has requested a copy of the show cause notice.
ISLAMABAD: Irfan Naeem Mangi, a key member of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the Sharif family in the Panama Papers case, has requested his parent organisation to withdraw it show cause notice against him.
Mangi, representing the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), was earlier issued a show cause notice on the directives of a committee investigating illegal appointments in the organization.
“It is requested that either the afore mentioned show cause notice be withdrawn or pended till the completion of my present attachment period with JIT as I am fully occupied with my current assignment,” said Mangi in the letter to Deputy Chairman NAB Qamar Zaman.
The letter added that Mangi was informed of the notice via telephone and has requested a copy of the show cause notice as he has yet to receive it.
The JIT has accused NAB of pressurising Mangi.
