Rainfall expected in Punjab, KP today: Met

Hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the country

Moderate monsoon currents are penetrating upper and eastern parts of the country, according to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

Seasonal low lies over northeast Balochistan and a shallow westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next 24-36 hours, said the Met department.

Moreover, rain/thundershowers (with isolated heavy falls) with gusty winds are expected at scattered places including Islamabad, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Malakand, Hazara, Mardan, Peshawar, Kohat divisions), FATA, upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore divisions), Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

Rain and thundershowers are also expected at a few places of Sahiwal, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur divisions.

On the other hand, hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the country, said the Met department.

Past weather:

Rain-thundershowers with gusty winds occurred at isolated places in Gujranwala, Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Malakand, Hazara divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Weather remained hot and humid in other parts of the country.

Moenjodaro 46°C, Larkana, Dadu, Sibbi 45°C, Nokkundi, Sakrund, Sukkar, Shaheed Benazirabad 44°C.
