ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif while commenting on the ongoing Panama Leaks investigations on Thursday said that democracy does not have any threat from him.
The premier was talking to journalists after returning from Tajikistan, where he was attending a CASA-1000 conference. The project envisions for the supply of electricity from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan and Afghanistan.
He said that they were awaiting Supreme Court's verdict on in Panama Leaks case and hoped for better judgment. "The one who made the country a nuclear-capable state is being subjected to accountability, that too fake."
Without naming Imran Khan, the prime minister said, "We have seen their sit-ins in 2014, and the failed lockdown. They remained part of every conspiracy, but we will deal with them".
He went on to say that there is nothing to fear as their hands are clean. "I asked the JIT what are the allegations against me, but got no answer.
"Have I looted the national exchequer, done corruption or got kickbacks," the PM asked.
Our intentions are good; we are not involved in any embezzlement and want to get through the investigation process, he maintained.
The prime minister said relations between Pakistan and India have deteriorated due to India’s oppression and atrocities in India-occupied Kashmir (IOK).

The premier reiterated that India should cease atrocities in the occupied valley and try to work towards a solution for the Kashmir issue.
The prime minister also met Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and also discussed matters of mutual interest during an informal conversation.
Nawaz responded to allegations levelled against Pakistan by Afghanistan and said that the country does not interfere in Afghan matters.
The two countries also exchanged lists related to terrorists.
