ISLAMABAD: As the Panama case Joint Investigation Team (JIT) is all set to wind up its sixty-day probe, the key question remains that whether the central character on which the Sharifs’ family entire case is based will appear before investigators or record his statement.

In what appeared to be a last ditch effort by the Sharif family to convince Qatari Prince Hammad bin Jasim, the prime minister’s elder son Hussain Nawaz dashed to Doha on Thursday but he could not meet prince.

“Hussain Nawaz Sahib spent some five hours in Doha today (July 6). He met some important friends. But he did not meet Qatari Prince Hammad bin Jasim,” a close aide of the Sharif family said.

“Hussain Sahib is arriving London tonight (July 6),” he said, adding that [Hussain Nawaz] will most probably return to Pakistan on Sunday.” revealed family aide who also met Hussain on Thursday. Hussain will be meeting some close friends in London in coming two days, he added.

Meanwhile, officials revealed that Pakistan’s Ambassador in Qatar Shahzad Ahmed is on leave till July 19. Sources said the embassy is playing a vital role to establish official communication between the Qatari prince and the JIT head Wajid Zia. The Foreign Office, however, did not comment on the matter.

The JIT formed by the Supreme Court on May 5 to probe the Sharif family’s businesses is set to submit its final report to the court on Monday.
