ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday held a meeting with a delegation from Qatar led by Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrehman Al-Thani here and discussed bilateral relations and the Middle East situation.
Al-Thani apprised the prime minister of Qatar’s stance on demands put forward by Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Bahrain to end the Arab countries’ boycott of Qatar.
He also informed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif about efforts by the Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Jaber-al-Sabah to end the dispute, which were praised by the premier.
The prime minister on the occasion said that Pakistan and Qatar enjoy brotherly relations and that good relations with Gulf countries are a priority for Pakistan. He also emphasised on the need to work together to resolve the Gulf crisis.
Al-Thani vowed to further strengthen relations between Qatar and Pakistan and thanked the prime minister for his efforts to resolve the Gulf crisis.
