‘Unparalleled development’ making opponents restless: CM Punjab

LAHORE: Chief Minister PunjabShehbaz Sharif on Friday said political opponents were getting restless due to the government's unparalleled development program.

"Despite hindrances, Pakistan is fast moving towards the end of the energy crisis," CM Punjab claimed.

He further added that the nation itself will bring to an end the politics of defeated elements.

With the Panama case hearing underway after the Joint Investigation Team submitted its final report to the Supreme Court, the ruling party has made strong statements on the case being used as a political crutch by opponents.

Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif hit out at his political opponents on Thursday, saying no one will accept accountability led by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Addressing a public gathering after the inauguration of the Lowari Tunnel, the premier said, “I want to tell the JIT, PTI and other politicians that no one will accept accountability from you. This is not accountability but exploitation. I can guarantee no one in Pakistan will accept this.”
