KARACHI: At least sixteen suspects were detained in the wee hours of Friday when Rangers and police carried out a joint search operation in Scout Colony area of the metropolis.
Rangers and police personnel started the door-to-door search operation in different areas of Karachi. The operation was conducted on intelligence about the presence of suspected criminals in the neighbourhood involved in the murder of traffic policeman, earlier this week, on Abul Hasan Isphani Road.
Law enforcers have intensified their crackdown against suspected criminals, target-killers and terrorists in the city.
The operation against criminal elements in Pakistan’s commercial hub Karachi was initiated back in September 2013 after the federal cabinet empowered Rangers to lead a targeted advance with the support of police.
