Body found in Karachi's Surjani Town; two injured in random firing incidents

KARACHI: A dead body was discovered late Saturday night here in Sector 36-B, Surjani Town, rescue sources said.

The rescue officials added that the body was almost three days old; however, the police are yet to comment on the matter since the deceased has not been identified.

CTD operation

On the other hand, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) carried out a raid in Saeedabad, Baldia Town, resulting in one suspect being killed and another managing to escape, the department's officials stated.

Weapons were recovered from the deceased suspect, CTD officers added.

Firing injures two

Two people were injured during firing incidents late Saturday night at two localities of the metropolis.

One person was wounded when they resisted a robbery attempt in Cantt Bazaar at Drigh Road, rescue sources noted. A woman was injured during a random firing incident near Dawood Chowrangi, Landhi, rescue officers explained.

Secret gambling den raided

Police raided a gambling den in Leemon Goth late Saturday night, Senior Superintended of Police (SSP)-Malir Rao Anwar said, adding that six suspects were taken into custody in the process.

The police officer mentioned that the suspects had set up the secret gambling den at one of their homes.
