Oil, ghee witness fresh price hike

KARACHI: A record hike of more than Rs7 per kg have been witnessed in ghee and edible oil prices within a short span of two days adding the miseries inflation hit people.

Secretary Karachi Retail Grosser Group Farid Qureshi while talking to ‘Geo News’ on Friday said that hike of Rs120 per 16kg canister have been witnessed in oil and ghee prices. With this fresh surge, a 16kg canister has reached to Rs2500 from Rs2380.

He further said that with these soaring prices 1kg of oil and ghee have reached to Rs156 from 148.

According to industry sources prices were raised owing to the fresh hike in the prices of crude palm oil in international market.
