Govt announces four-day holiday on Eid-ul-Azha

September 01 to 04 will be public holidays on occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, reads a notification by Interior Ministry

ISLAMABAD: The government has announced four-day holiday on account of Eid-ul-Azha from September 1 to September 4, according to a notification issued Wednesday.

The Ministry of Interior issued the notification announcing that Friday September 1 to Monday September 4 will be public holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

On Tuesday, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced that Zil-Hajj moon was not sighted anywhere in the country, hence Eid-ul-Azha will be observed on September 2 across Pakistan.

In Saudi Arabia, the Supreme Court had announced on Tuesday that the crescent of the month was sighted, and Zill Hajj will begin from Wednesday onwards.

Similarly, August 31 will be the Day of Arafah, and September 1 will be the first day of Eid-ul-Azha in the kingdom.
