Wahab Riaz proved to be the most expensive player from Pakistan

Cape Town:A total of nine cricketers from Pakistan have been picked for the inaugural edition of South Africa's T20 Global League, in the 16 rounds of players draft held here on Sunday.

Wahab Riaz, Umar Akmal, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Hafeez, Fakhar Zaman, Yasir Shah, Anwar Ali, Imad Wasim and Junaid Khan were picked by the franchises participating in T20GL.

Durban Qalandars, a team owned by Lahore Qalandars' Fawad Rana, drafted Fakhar Zaman for US$ 65,000 and veteran batsman Mohammed Hafeez for US$ 75,000.

Benoni Zalmi, of Peshawar Zalmi owners, took fast bowler Wahab Riaz, who proved to be the most expensive Pakistani player, for US$ 115,000,and middle order batsman Umar AkmalUS$ 100,000.

Zalmi also picked Mohammad Nawaz for US$ 65,000.

All-rounder and number one ranked T20 bowler Imad Wasim was picked to represent Stellenbosch Monarchs, which will be led by South Africa's Faf du Plessis.

All-rounder Anwar Ali and pacer Junaid Khan were picked by Nelson Mandela Bay Stars.

Joburg Giants picked leg-spinner, Yasir Shah.

The inaugural edition of T20 Global League will be held from November 3rd to December 16 in various cities of South Africa.
