22 detained in Jamshoro following joint operation by police, Rangers

JAMSHORO: 22 suspects were taken into custody for questioning following a joint search operation by police and Rangerscarried out Saturday night here in the city, as well as in Kotri and Sehwan, Geo News reported citing a police official.

Law enforcement agencies (LEAs) conducted a collaborative combing operation, which led to 22 suspected criminals being detained late last night, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Irfan Bahadur said.

Chichawatni pillion-riding arrests

Seven people were arrested Saturday night in Chichawatni for violating the ban placed on pillion-riding in light of Ashura processions in various cities of Pakistan, police sources revealed.

The security officials added that cases had been registered against the detainees.

Firing in Karachi

One person was left wounded in a random firing incident late last night in Karachi's Gulistan-e-Johar area, rescue officers stated.

The victim of the firing incident — in Block 15 of Gulistan-e-Johar — was subsequently moved to a nearby hospital, rescue sources said.
