Huge forest fire in Upper Dir’s tourist spot continues for second day

KARACHI: The thick forests in Upper Dir’s Usheri area continue to be engulfed in flames even after 24 hours, destroying hundreds of trees and wood.

According to the police, locals, Levies and police personnel have been attempting to put out the fire that took place yesterday but have failed due to the magnitude of the fire.

Scores of pine trees and tree houses were burnt and several feet of wood destroyed.

Police said that fire continues to grow, posing a threat to the wildlife and local population.
