Protests are taking place in India prior to the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming movie Padmavati.
Members of the Rajput community held massive protests in the Indian state of Gujrat demanding that the movie not be released. Protesters claim that Bhansali in the movie has distorted facts.
Padmavati has been plagued by controversy with reports of sets being vandalized and crew being attacked.
Rajput Karni Sena an Indian caste organization had issues with the wrong depiction of Rani Padmavati played by Deepika in the movie.
The movie is expected to be released on December 1.
