Two killed in Karachi police encounter

KARACHI: At least two suspects were killed Tuesday night in a clash with police in Manghopir area of Karachi.

The two suspects, Nasir Khan and Imtiaz Khan, were wanted for killing a cop, Sajid Mehmood, in an attack on a police mobile van.

According to the Senior Superintendent of Police in Karachi's West Zone, law enforcement personnel acted on information that suspects involved in an earlier attack on a police van near Banaras bridge were present in the area.

The suspects opened fire when a large contingent of police personnel raided the spot, he said.

Both suspects were killed on the spot in the exchange of gunfire.
