LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif on Saturday chaired a high-level party huddle in the city's Raiwind area.
Top party officials and government representatives attended the meeting, including Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq, ministers Saad Rafique and Marriyum Aurganzeb.
Also present in the meeting were Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz.
The meeting discussed the Islamabad operation and the situation stemming from it, among other issues.
Heavy contingents of police, FC and Rangers were deployed to the interchange, where they are using tear gas and water cannons to disperse the protesters after the capital was paralysed due to the sit-in which has been ongoing for almost three weeks. According to reports, dozens of protesters have been detained.
