KARACHI: Police recovered a sizeable cache of arms and ammunition during a raid in Karachi early Thursday, officials said.

The law enforcers, together with intelligence personnel, raided a shop in Orangi Town's Sector L-12, said SP Abid Baloch said.

The shop had been lying closed for a year.

Baloch said police recovered three Kalashnikovs, handguns and hundreds of live rounds hidden inside the shop.

Police said they also found flags a political party inside the shop.

Officials say they suspect the arms have been used in various terror activities and will get their forensic test conducted.
