QUETTA: Inspector General of Balochistan Police, Malik Mohammad Iqbal has issued directives to launch operation against 21 hardened criminals wanted in several cases.

He said this while addressing a high level meeting held here at IG office on Thursday to review the law and order situation in the province.

"In view of the possible threat, efforts to nab 21 wanted criminals be speeded up, IGP said, adding officials concerned must ensure fool-proof security arrangements to the mourners of Shuhad-e-Karbala procession.

He said work on the construction of pickets in the jurisdiction of sensitive police stations is underway. IGP expressed concern over the increasing crimes in Shalkot and Bijli Road police stations and directed the officials to take immediate steps for improvement of the situation in this connection.

Meeting gave approval for installation of more closed circuit cameras in the suburbs after the successful outcome of the same in the city areas.

DIG Crimes and Highways, DIG Headquarters, DIG Investigations, DIG CID, DIG Special Branch Deputy Commandant Balochistan Constabulary, SPs and other officials attended the meeting.
