GILGIT: The Federal government has appointed Pir Karam Ali Shah Governor Gilgit-Baltistan after four months of the demise of former governor Dr. Shamma Khalid, who died of cancer.
A formal notification had been issued in this regard and necessary protocol had been furnished to the governor, said an administration official of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
Syed Pir Karam Ali Shah, suffering from heart disease is in his seventies and widely respected for his balanced personality.
Pir Syed Karam Ali Shah has been member of assembly for four times and comes from a religious family.
He will resign from his seat in GBLA and by-elections would beheld in his constituency.
