PESHAWAR: A senior police official DSP Rashid Khan and three others have been killed when a suicide bomber blew himself up near the vehicle of the DSP in Garhi Qamardin area of Peshawar on Kohat road, Geo News reported.

Two gunmen of the deputy superintendent of police and a passer-by died in the attack. Hospital sources told Geo News that 15 injured have been admitted for the treatment.

According to the police, car of DSP Rashid Khan was the target of the suicide attacker. DCO Peshawar Siraj Ahmed told media person that the police van was on a routine patrol on the outskirts of Peshawar when it came under attack.

It may be mentioned here that the militants have earlier targeted Rashid Khan. A bomb disposal squad official said the bomber was carrying 6-7 kilograms of explosives, which destroyed the police van.
