KARACHI: Five suspects were taken into custody during an operation carried outSaturday night in New Karachi Industrial Area, police said.
Authorities added that weapons were recovered from the detained suspects, who, they said, were identified as Altaf, Nasir, Noman, Asif, and Imran.
Further, four other suspects were detained from the metropolis' Samanabad area, police sources stated.
Muzaffar Ahmed — an assignment editor at Geo News — was robbed Saturday night here in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 9, with suspects escaping with his mobile phone and cash.
Sources said the suspects opened fire as well but Ahmed, however, remained unharmed.
The driver of a rickshaw and his passenger were wounded Saturday night when they were fired upon here in the city's Madina Colony area, Geo News reported.
On the other hand, another person was injured during a firing incident in Landhi's Majeed Colony.
