Two criminals killed in clash with police in Karachi

KARACHI: At least two wanted criminals were killed early Wednesday in an encounter with police personnel in Sohrab Goth area of Karachi.

According to police, personnel clashed with armed gunmen in Ganna Mandi area of Sohrab Goth near Super Highway, killing two of the criminals. Police claimed the two men were wanted in serious crimes.

In a separate incident, a policeman was wounded by firing in Korangi's Ibrahim Hyderi area.

The injured cop was taken to the hospital, but he succumbed to his wounds during treatment.

Meanwhile, a policeman belonging to the anti-corruption force was wounded in firing near Water Pump Chowrangi area.

The policeman, Iqbal Alam, was currently being treated for the gunshot wound at a hospital.
