ISLAMABAD: Margallah Police has arrested 42 persons including four proclaimed offenders during the last month and recovered stolen cars and other valuables worth millions of rupees from their possession, a police spokesman said.

According to details, SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan directed SP (Saddar) Dr. Khuram Rasheed to intensify patrolling and vigilance in the area and curb ant-social activities.

Following the directions, Dr. Khuram Rasheed constituted special teams under the supervision of ASP Margallah Faisal Bashir Memon and Station House Officer Muhammad Hussain Lasi.

The teams arrested 23 persons involved in crime of heinous nature and recovered five stolen cars, five 30 bore pistols, one motorbike, mobile phones, gold ornaments and cash worth million of rupees from their possession.

Margallah police also arrested four proclaimed offenders and 15 suspects during the crackdown against the criminals. Further investigation is underway and police are hopeful to get further important information from the nabbed persons.

SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan has appreciated the performance of Margallah police and directed to curb crime in the area with effective policing. He said that it is the prime responsibility of police to ensure protection to the lives and property of citizens and every possible effort would be made to accomplish it.
