Witness deviates from statement after identifying Ubaid 'K2'

KARACHI: Minutes after news broke that a witness had identified Ubaid ‘K2’ in an identification parade before a judicial magistrate in Karachi, the witness deviated from his statement.

Ubaid had been presented in court in the murder case of a policeman who was gunned down near Yousaf Plaza in Karachi. A key witness had identified Ubaid in the presence of Rangers personnel, however he deviated from his statement before the magistrate.

Ubaid was arrested during a Rangers raid at Nine Zero.

On Thursday, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) extended the physical remand of Ubaid for eight-days.
