Police officer injured in Karachi encounter that led to dacoit's arrest

KARACHI: A police officer was wounded during an encounter Sunday night here in the metropolis' North Nazimabad area that also resulted in the arrest of one dacoit, authorities said.

The injured officer was identified as Tahir, police confirmed.

However, two of the arrested dacoit's managed to flee during the encounter near Asghar Ali Shah Cricket Stadium. The one detained was identified as Shahid.

Weapons, jewellery, cash, and a motorcycle were recovered from the arrestee, police mentioned.
