First polio case of year in Karachi

KARACHI: The first polio case of the current year in Karachi was detected on Friday, raising the number of confirmed polio cases in Sindh province this year to seven.

EPI Sindh project director Dr Mazhar Khamesani told this news agency that 18-month Maria daughter of Tawab Khan, resident of Baloch Colony, UC-13 Orangi town was confirmed poliovirus positive. (PPI)
