PESHAWAR: At least four policemen were injured in an explosion at Gul Bahar police station in Peshawar while two of the station’s rooms annihilated completely, Geo News reported.
Media sources said the explosion occurred due to explosives placed in a room of bomb disposal unit, which went off after natural gas filled the room.
At least four policemen injured in the explosion have been shifted to Lady Reading Hospital for medical treatment, police said.
Chief Capital City Police Officer (CCPP), Liaquat Ali, talking to media men outside the explosion site said the explosion resulted due to natural gas that filled the room.
Denying the media reports, he dismissed presence of explosives, arms or ammunition in the room, which were blamed to be the cause of explosion.
CCPO Peshawar said four policemen incurred injuries due in the incident who have been admitted to Lady Reading Hospital, quoting hospital sources as saying that all four personnel were out of danger.
