FAISALABAD: Life imprisonment has been awarded to an accused involved in sodomy cum murder case in the jurisdiction of Dijkot police station.

According to the prosecution, Gulam Husian along with his three accomplices Irfan, Mujahid Husain and Imran committed offense with a teenager Zubair (13) in Chak No.133-GB sometime ago. The accused, later on, killed the victim and dumped the body into bushes.

After observing evidences and witnesses, Additional Session Judge Khizar Hayat Saho awarded life imprisonment to accused Ghulam Husian. The convict was also directed to pay Rs 100,000 as compensation to legal heirs of the deceased. Otherwise, he will have to undergo an additional imprisonment of six months if he fails to pay the amount of compensation.

Meanwhile, the learned court acquitted the remaining three accused of the case by giving them the benefit of doubt. (APP)
