ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry, hearing Hajj scam case, remarked that the officials are either transferred or sent on forced leaves as soon as SC opens any corruption case, Geo News reported Friday.

A four-member bench of SC, headed by Chief Justice (CJ) Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry, heard Hajj scam case toady.

SC, expressing anger over transfer orders of FIA officials Javaid Bukhari and Hussain Ashgher, directed agency to immediately halt transfer of the aforementioned officials, threatening to act fiercely if the latter failed to comply with apex court’s orders.

The court will cancel notification carrying transfer orders of FIA officials if the latter failed to abide by apex court’s command, SC warned.

Meanwhile, upon this, Director General FIA, Malik Iqbal, said that the agency could not even think of disobeying court’s orders but requested for some time to discuss the matter with Prime Minister Gilani.

At this, Justice Fayyaz Raja remarked that court sees transfer of FIA officials as being akin to interruption to court’s proceedings and the contempt of court.

Later, the hearing was adjourned till May 6.
