DERA GHAZI KHAN: At least four people were killed and one injured in a traffic accident here Tuesday night, rescue authorities said, as two vehicles collided on the Jampur Road.

Rescue sources explained that a head-on collision between a car and a speeding truck left four people, of the same family, dead. They were identified as two-year-old Abdullah, his mother Maria, and Habibullah and Ayaz Ahmed.

Another woman, Nazia, who was also in the car, was injured and promptly shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital after rescue teams arrived on the site.

The bodies, too, were moved to the DHQHospital, rescue officials said.

According to police, however, initial information suggests that the truck driver had fled and a search for him was subsequently underway.
