WASHINGTON: Pakistan Ambassador in U.S, Hussain Haqqani has said that Pakistan-Afghanistan and U.S trilateral talks would be held in Islamabad on May 3.

Talking to CNN, Hussain Haqqani dismissed U.S media assertions on Islamabad advising Kabul against co-operation with the United States. He said that Pakistan, Afghanistan and U.S were working together in coordination and the three countries would be holding talks in Islamabad on May 3 for a resolution of the decade old Afghan war.

“Very interestingly, only last week Ambassador Grossman (US special envoy for the region) and Pakistan’s foreign secretary (Salman Bashir) agreed that they are going to try and create a trilateral mechanism. They are having a meeting in Islamabad on the 3rd of May,” Haqqani told CNN in an appearance in the channels’ program Situation Room.
