Info minister Chaudhry says 'everything going well' with MQM-P in Karachi
Chaudhry also said his party did not desire any change in the government of Sindh — just the removal of CM Murad Ali Shah
KARACHI: Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said Tuesday "everything [was] going well" withthe Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) in Sindh and that there was no crack in the two parties' alliance.
Speaking to media personnel following a meeting with the leaders of the MQM-P in Bahadurabad, Chaudhry commented that the alliance between the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the MQM-P was going well and that work has been done on some of the conditions of the deal between the two.
However, "the ones that are remaining will be put forth to the prime minister," he added.
On the other hand, MQM-P leader Kunwar Naveed Jamilnoted that many urban areas of Sindh's major cities, including Karachi and Hyderabad, required assistance from the federal government and that the information minister had assured to clear all reservations of his party.
In addition, Chaudhry also mentioned that hisparty did not desire any change in the government of Sindh — just that of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah's removal.
'Practical steps'

Earlier in the day,Chaudhry had lashed out at the Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP) leadership during a press conference in the city, warning of "practical steps" from the federal government if the PPP leadership failed to bring any change in Sindh.
"The government wants the PPP to bring the change themselves," he had said, as he renewed his party's call for Shah's resignation. "If PPP fails to bring any change in Sindh, and if Murad Ali Shah does not resign by himself, then the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf will need to take practical steps."
He dubbed the Sindh CM as the “jinn” of Omni Group’s money-laundering “magic lamp”.
“Murad Ali Shah is the jinn of Omni Group’s ‘magic lamp’ with which the Zardari group, the rulers in Sindh, [launder] money abroad in the blink of an eye. He says to his party leadership: ‘what can I do for you, my lord?’” Chaudhry had remarked.
The minister had claimed that the PPP’s senior leadership has contacted the PTI to help improve Sindh's conditions.
“We want to give PPP opportunity to improve the situation in Sindh. If the money given to Sindh had been utilised honestly, then the province would have been completely [transformed] by now.
“Karachi is in dire straits. There’s no money for development projects,” he had lamented.
“PTI Sindh stands with the people of the province,” Chaudhry had added.
