ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani held separate meetings with President, Minister of State for Interior Affairs and Army Chief to review in details the situation after Abbottabad operation and international media’s propaganda against Pakistan, Geo News reported Saturday.

A statement from PM House confirmed that the premier will take up the Abbottabad issue in parliament on Monday, May 9 and will invite debate on it after many opposition leaders demanded government to address their reservations.

PM Gilani said his government gives priority to national honour, defence, and sovereignty, adding that all institutions will ensure safeguard of national interests at all costs as anticipated by masses.

Spokesman to PM House informed media that the premier held separate meetings with President Zardari, Minister of States on Interior Hina Rabbani Khar, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani and Defense Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar.

The meetings mulled over the situation after killing of al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden in US raid on Pakistani soil.

According to the press release, PM Gilani’s meetings with army chief and ministers discussed issues relating to national interests including sovereignty of Pakistan.

According to him, the premier will take parliament into confidence on May 9 over the Abbottabad incident and will also allow debate on the issue.
