Blast in a house damages houses, shops

MULTAN: A powerful blast took place in a house in Samajabad Colony when stocked explosives went off all of a sudden, but luckily, no loss of life or injury was reported in the incident.

Police said that pile of explosive material, used to make crackers and fireworks, was stored in the house of Mohammed Aslam in Samajabad locality here in Multan, which exploded after eruption of fire somewhere in the room.

The explosion was powerful enough which damaged nearby shops and houses. Eyewitnesses said that no causality or injury was reported in the incident.

Locals said that an identical incident had taken place in the same house about a year ago but police failed to initiate an effective action against the house owner to prevent him from storing explosive material there. (APP)
