Man shot dead outside Lahore sessions court

The victim had arrived in court to secure an interim bail when unidentified men opened fire on him

LAHORE: A man was shot dead outside sessions court on Saturday by unidentified men despite strict security measures outside Lahore’s lower court complex.

According to reports, the deceased identified as Bilal was a resident of Mughalpura and had arrived at court before sessions Judge Mirza Shahid Baig to secure an interim bailin a case registered against him for marrying by will.

Bilal had been accused by hisin-laws of kidnapping theirdaughter and hadregistered a complaint against him at the Gujjarpur Police Station.

However, before he could enter the court premises two unidentified men riding a motorcycle opened fire on him fled the scene of crime.

Police have sent the body for post-mortem examination and registered a case against the men.

Last year, a head constable and an under-custody suspect were killed in a shooting incident in Lahore’s lower court complex after a gunman opened fire on him within the vicinity of the sessions court.
