KARACHI: The doctors and paramedical staff at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) and National Institute of Child Health (NICH) continued their strike on 19th consecutive, causing misery to hundreds of patients.
The Joint Action Committee of doctors of JPMC and NICH had given a strike call 20 days ago.
The services of operation theatres and Out Patients Department (OPDs) remained suspended on 4th consecutive day at these hospitals. Protesting doctors also staged sit-in outside JPMC that caused problems for the vehicular traffic.
They threatened to shut down the service of emergency department if the JPMC and NICH were devolved to Sindh province. They asked visiting patients to consult other hospitals for the medical treatments to avert any serious complication caused by the protest. (PPI)
