Dr Abdul Malik said the body of only one of the martyrs would be repatriated to Pakistan

CHRISTCHURCH: The Pakistani High Commissioner to New Zealand said late Wednesday the body of only one of the nine Pakistani martyrsin the horrible Christchurch massacre would be repatriated back to his motherland.

Speaking to Geo News, Dr Abdul Malik, the high commissioner, mentioned that the remaining eight martyrs would be laid to rest in Christchurch after their funeral prayers were offered.

Dr Malik that the bodies of seven Pakistani martyrs of the horrible Christchurch massacre have been handed over by the local authorities. He said only the bodies of Naeem Rashid — who sacrificed his life to save others at the Al Noor Mosque when the white terrorist opened fire — and his son 22-year-old son, Talha Naeem, were yet to be received.

Dr Malik explained that based on the information that he had, he was expecting the bodies of the father-son duo to be handed over to Pakistani officials by evening today (Thursday).

Earlier today, the funeral prayers for late 27-year-old Areeb Ahmed, who wasa chartered account by profession, hailed from Karachi, and was the only son of his parents, were offered.
