People stage protest against load-shedding

ISLAMABAD: A large number of people on Friday protested at separate spots against the unscheduled and prolong load-shedding in the city.

Residents in adjacent areas of Koral and Tarnol protested against the long load-shedding. The enraged protestors blocked the roads by burning tyres on the roads in their respective areas, thus halting every kind of traffic on the roads for several hours.

The protestors complained that the long hour load-shedding have made their lives miserable. Protesting people also chanted against IESCO.

In Koral area, Station House Officer Abid Hussain and six other policemen were injured due to the pelting of the stones by the protestors and around 25 persons were also nabbed by the police.

Meanwhile, the enraged protesters damaged traffic police post in Koral. While the protestors in Tarnol damaged the vehicles parked near Grid station in Chistianabad, Golra. (APP)
