ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Water and Power Naveed Qamar Saturday said that a final rise in power tariff for this fiscal is likely to be made on June 1, Geo News reported.

Addressing a press conference, he said steps were required to be taken to create a balance between the cost of production and retail price.

He said this year there would be less loadshedding compared to the previous year with a shortfall to remain around 2500 MW. Scheduled loadshedding will also remain within reasonable limits, he added.

Naveed Qamar said 1200 MW electricity has been added to the national grid over the past two months.
