ISLAMABAD: National Highways & Motorway Police foiled two attempts of robberies on GT Road in the area of Kamonke and Rahimyar Khan by prompt action and arrested three robbers and recovered 30 bore pistols & ammunition from their custody.

According to press release issued Saturday, Motorway police officers PO Muhammad Khadim and APO Ali Akbar on their routine duty in the area of Kamonke, saw a Honda 125 motorcycle No. GLA-8558 parked on hard shoulder and three persons were looting one Ateeq.

When the culprits saw motorway police officers they tried to escape but the through commando action of motorway police officers succeeded to arrest two persons Zamir Hussains and Babar Ali from Gujranwala and recovered 30 bore pistol with magazine,along with looted money and mobile phone.

In the meantime one accused succeeded to escape by taking the advantage of darkness.

In the second incident, Motorway Police officers SPO Nadeem Umer Farooqi and PO Abdul Shakoor during their routine patrolling in the area of Rahimyar Khan,were informed by a driver of Shehzor Pickup No. RNS-6318 Abdul Shakoor that on Kot Smala link road some armed persons on a motorbike without number plate have looted him.

On receiving this information the NH&MP officers rushed to the scene of incident, when the culprits saw the officers of motorway police, they ran and hidden in a nearby mango orchard.The NH&MP officers cordoned off the orchard and stated search. The dacoits started firing, which was responded by NH&MP officers.

In the meantime, a Commando Unit of NH&MP officers also reached there, who with commando action, succeeded to arrest one dacoit Sadaqat from Rahimyar Khan with a pistol of 30 bore pistol and live rounds. Whereas, the others succeeded to escape from there due to darkness and firing.

All the dacoits arrested in two incidents & recovered arms etc. were later on handed over to concerned local police for further investigation.
