KARACHI: The foreign exchange reserves of the country increased by $311 million to $17.339 billion, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) weekly report issued here on Thursday said.

"The forex increase was due to inflow of home remittances," said a Central Bank spokesman.

The Central Bank said that forex reserves were $17.065 billion on May 21 that jumped to $17.339 billion on May 28.

Giving a break up, it said that reserves held by SBP were $13.906 billion and that held by other banks stood at $3.44 billion. (APP)
