SANGHAR: A large area came under water following the development of an eighty feet wide breach in Nara Canal at RD-312 near Sanghar, Geo News reported Thursday.
According to local sources, standing crops of paddy and banana were inundated with water as a result of breach developed in Nara Canal in Khipro area of Sanghar early in the morning today.
The locals jumped in and began the emergency services on self-help basis but the breach being very wide could not be plugged.
In the meantime, the water also entered the adjacent village, Qazi Faizullah.
The local police have informed the local administration of the on-ground situation. However, no staff or official from the concerned authority reached the site of the incident.
