KARACHI: Three persons were shot dead and four injured in firing incidents that took place in different areas of the city, Geo News reported.
Tension gripped the city late Thursday where scattered incidents of firing and arson were witnessed in different localities that killed three people and injured four, including three security men and one Quaidabad resident.
According to police sources, fire exchange is taking place between miscreants and Rangers in Sohrab Goth near Super Highway.
Unknown men have also torched several vehicles near Sohrab Goth, hampering transportation activity in the city.
Police and Rangers have been deployed in the area to control violence in the metropolis. Areas affected by firing incidents include Malir, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Maripur, Sohrab Goth and Quaidabad.
The Karachi Transport Ittehad is observing a wheel-jam strike today (Thursday) on the decision taken by an All Parties' Conference held recently under the aegis of the KESC Mazdoor Ittehad.
The city dwellers have been urged by concerned political circles to observe the wheel-jam strike against prolonged power outages, "bogus" electricity billing, and the KESC plan to lay off over 4,000 employees.
